ABOUT

Recobrada is an associative resource center whose objective is to support people who are far from employment in building their own professional project, by putting them in a situation within an eco-responsible economic activity: the collection, recovery and resale of objects and materials that were destined for scrap.

We are located in the Cœur de Garonne Community of Communes, in the south of Toulouse, with the desire to respond to a real need in the region, both in terms of the employment area and waste treatment and environmental awareness.

Our project is co-financed by the European Union as part of the national ESF+ program "Employment-Inclusion-Youth-Skills 2021-2027", by the Departmental Directorate of Economy, Employment, Labor and Solidarity of Haute-Garonnel (DDEETS), by ADEME, the Occitanie Region, the Departmental Council of Haute-Garonne, the Community of Communes Cœur de Garonne and the city of Cazères.

OUR AREAS OF ACTION

THE RESOURCE CENTER

The recycling center is a place for collecting and recycling all types of objects and materials, to which we give a second life, through sales in our solidarity store.

Individuals drop off whatever they no longer need, and our team takes care of restoring these items or creating new ones through recycling and transformation. At our place, everything is a resource!

Ultimately, for what could not be recycled on site, we have partner recycling channels.

The volume of items collected, processed and sold at the recycling center is constantly increasing, which demonstrates the real need for everyone to limit their environmental impact.

In October 2021, thanks to the support of the DDETS and the Departmental Fund for Integration, we fitted out and equipped a 200 square meter space for the recovery of recycled wood, for the creation of garden and home furniture.

THE INTEGRATION SITE

In November 2018, we set up an Integration Project (ACI) at the recycling center in agreement with the DDEETS and the Haute-Garonne Departmental Council.

The ACIs offer support and professional activity to unemployed people experiencing particular social and professional difficulties.

ACI employees work in the various activities of the recycling center; they also have access to training, internships, work placements and fixed-term contracts to discover other professions, refine a project or improve their skills.

We support them comprehensively, with the help of the entire team of permanent employees.

Today, 20 employees are returning to active life by working at Récobrada, while building their own professional project.

REUSE WORKSHOPS

The association offers ongoing and occasional workshops on reuse for ACI employees and the general public. The goal is to raise environmental awareness while promoting social connections and conviviality through social and intergenerational diversity.

Our woodworking workshop builds all kinds of objects from reclaimed wood. The workshop is located at the recycling center and welcomes volunteer participants every Wednesday, with the other days being dedicated to the integration project.

Our sewing workshop offers an introduction to all audiences once a week.

The small and large appliance repair workshop "Repair café" will start in April, every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

And our latest project, a vegetable garden for the association's employees, open to visitors to raise awareness about organic waste treatment.

For all these workshops, activities are carried out on request with partner associations and institutions.
